This tour takes you from Calafate to Port Punta Bandera
and we will sail up to the northern arm of Argentinean
Lake until we arrive at Upsala Glacier,the largest mass
of ice (30 miles of length approximately). In the front
of this glacier, huge blocks of ice break away from it,
that then form icebergs that navigate the lake like
sailboats. Our boat will sail parallel to the glacier
for several kilometers.After arriving at Onelli Bay, we
will have to go through a one mile passage until we
reach Onelli Lagoon. You can observe this magnificent
work of nature within a safe distance.At Onelli Bay you
will disembark and walk through the ancient forest of
Lengas and Nires unique trees. After an half one mile
walk,you reach Lake Onelli where the Bolado, Onelli,and
Agassis glaciers come down together towards the lagoon
filling the waters with drifting icebergs. On the shore
of the Onelli Bay, there is a comfortable restaurant
where it is possible to shelter from the cold and enjoy
the simple but delicious local cuisine, then we will
return to the point of departure.
